Limestone County Schools Superintendent Dr. Tom Sisk verified Saturday morning that all the students involved attend Ardmore High School. Both Whitt and Sisk verified that two of the students were airlifted to Nashville. Whitt said one other student was transported to a local hospital but was later released.

Names of the two female students were airlifted have not yet been released. Whitt said both were in serious condition.

Sisk described the situation as “absolutely tragic.” He has made arrangements for counselors to be at Ardmore High School early Monday morning to meet with students who were not only friends with those involved in the wreck, but to also counsel students who witnessed it.

Whitt said because of the nature of the crash and the seriousness of the injuries, state troopers are assisting Ardmore Police with the investigation.
