A Falkville man was arrested Friday and more arrests are expected after more than $1,500 in power tools were stolen from the Athens Lowe’s home improvement store, Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson announced Monday.

Desmond Kade Aycock, 20, of 143 E. Pike Road, is facing a charge of second-degree theft and a charge of making a false report to law enforcement.

APD received a report from Lowe’s on July 1 after the store’s loss prevention department identified two men, one of whom was allegedly Aycock, who came into the store June 30 and left with five Dewalt power drills, totaling $1,575, Johnson said.

Aycock was arrested on a warrant Friday night. The chief said he expects more arrests as the investigation into the thefts continues.
