‘Angels’ in the library
Dear Editor:
I don’t know about you, but if I have a task that needs to be done at home, whether it’s the laundry or cleaning the house, no one “miraculously” does it for me. However, that doesn’t mean I haven’t wished for “angels” to appear and take care of my chores.
I am pleased to report the Athens-Limestone Public Library is different. All summer, the library is filled with “angels” who are also known as library pages (teens who volunteer their time).
Several times recently I have had time-consuming tasks in preparation for a Library Foundation event, cleaning up after an event, preparing for a mail-out, etc. that I was prepared to do myself. In each situation the task has “miraculously” (and cheerfully) been accomplished by one of the wonderful pages. I want to say a heartfelt thanks to these fabulous “teen angels” for all they do.
Sincerely,
Debbie Joyner
