Not a fan of the brown
Dear Editor:
While visiting Athens and walking in the Beaty Historic District, I saw they were painting the Beaty-Mason House brown. This has traditionally been the home of the presidents of Athens College. It has thankfully survived since 1826.
The classical, white architecture has always complimented the college, the town, and reflected its history. The brown color is very unattractive.
I am wondering who approved this change and why they chose that color. I know that Athens’ residents are proud of their historic architecture and history.
Thank you,
