Huntsville police arrest man in Gander Mountain arson

A 25-year-old Huntsville man has been charged with first-degree arson for allegedly pouring camping fuel on a rack of clothing at a sporting goods store last week and setting it aflame, an official said.
Joseph Charles Cobble is accused of entering Gander Mountain Outdoors at 3418 N. Memorial Parkway about 7:30 p.m. March 19, dousing the clothing with fuel, setting it on fire, exiting and driving away, said Lt. Stacy Bates, public information officer for Huntsville Police Department.

Follow-up investigation by arson and crime scene investigators led them to Cobble’s residence, where he was arrested at approximately 2 a.m. March 20, Bates said.

First-degree arson is a Class A felony in Alabama punishable by no fewer than 10 years and no more than 99 years in prison.
