John Ferguson

John Calvin Ferguson, 71, of Decatur died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, at home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Spry Funeral Home in Athens assisted the family.

Mr. Ferguson was born March 24, 1944, in Limestone County. He was a retired truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his brothers, Marvin Eugene Ferguson of Athens, James M. Ferguson of Harvest and Herb Ferguson of Decatur; sisters, Martha A. Gossett of Athens and Sue Swan of Raleigh, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Thelma Ferguson; brother, David Edward Ferguson; and sister, Evelyn Winsett.
