Mark Dewayne Elliott, 48, of Toney, passed away Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at home.
Born Tuesday, Dec. 5, 1967, in Athens, he was the son of John C. “Buddy” Elliott and Lynda Faye Tyler Elliott of Elkmont.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Clifton; grandparents, John and Anna Elliott, and Wilson and Addie B. Tyler.
He was a lifelong resident of this area and was of the Baptist faith. He was a big Alabama fan and enjoyed spending time with his family. He touched a lot of lives. He was a draftsman and enjoyed woodworking, restoring cars and trucks, coaching all sports, and watching his boys play sports.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Gibson Elliott of Toney; sons, Tyler Michael Elliott of Nashville, Tennessee; Jonathan Cody Elliott of Toney; brother-in-law, James David Gibson and wife Kim of Toney; father and mother-in-law, Horace and Sandra Marberry of Toney; niece, Morgan Gibson of Toney; nephew, Hunter Gibson of Toney; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Billy Taylor and Steve Hargrove officiating. Burial was in Sylone Cemetery in Elkmont.
Visitation was held 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home.
