Leon Reyer

Leon Reyer, 90, of Ardmore died Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Huntsville Hospital.

Born Monday, Nov. 2, 1925, in Ardmore, he was the son of the late S.A. Reyer and the late Maggie Hood Reyer. He retired from the U.S. Army Missile Command and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, serving in World War II.

He attended Community Baptist Church and enjoyed beekeeping, woodworking and spending time with his grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Reba Mae Pylant Reyer; and a grandson, Jeremy Eckstein.

Survivors include daughters, Janice Eckstein, Patricia Hatchett and husband Johnny, all of Ardmore; five grandsons; and two great-grandsons.

The funeral is 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Spencer Hardiman and Rick Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore.

Family visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
