DECATUR, Ala. (AP) — Police say one of two suspects wanted in connection with the death of a man who they say was shot while sitting in his girlfriend’s car is in custody.
Decatur police say 24-year-old Jovan Deante Anderson was arrested after turning himself in to authorities on Monday. Anderson and another suspect are charged with capital murder in connection with the slaying of 30-year-old Brandon Terrell Harris.
Police say Harris was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in his girlfriend’s Chevy Malibu parked in an alley in Decatur on Friday. Decatur police spokesman Lt. John Crouch says the killing is believed to have happened Thursday night.
Anderson is being held without bond. It isn’t clear if he has an attorney.
Authorities say the second suspect, Gary Hill, remains at large.
