A man accused of multiple counts of rape, sodomy, incest and other crimes was being held on a $2 million bond Friday night in the Limestone County Jail, officials said.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department arrested Richard Edward Davis, 44, of 26989 Lambert Road, Elkmont, following his 107-count indictment by a Limestone County grand jury, an official said.
Davis was arrested on the following felony charges, according to the Limestone County Jail:
• 20 counts of strong-arm rape;
• 35 counts of first-degree sexual abuse;
• 20 counts of incest with a minor;
• 15 counts of first-degree sodomy;
• 7 counts of enticing a child for immoral purposes; and
• 10 counts of facilitating the travel of a child for unlawful sex act.
Limestone County District Attorney Brian Jones said the case against Davis was the work of the Sheriff’s Department, Limestone County Department of Human Resources and the District Attorney’s Office.
Jones told The News Courier on Satruday the court document doesn’t specify where the incident took place, but did happen within Limestone County limits over a period of “6-7 years.” The victim did not report the abuse until they were “older,” Jones said.
“In a case like this, there’s no statute of limitations,” he said.
