DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A jury in Georgia is considering the fate of an Alabama man charged in the roadway death of a woman who was rammed to death with his vehicle.
Jurors began deliberations late Thursday in the trial of 24-year-old Dewey Green of Pelham.
Green is charged with multiple counts of murder and assault in the death of 53-year-old Janice Pitts in Douglasville in June 2014.
Authorities say Pitts was stopped at a traffic light when a vehicle driven by Green struck her SUV from behind.
Evidence showed she got out to look at the damage and was pinned when Green’s truck rammed her again. Pitts was then run over when the vehicle pulled away.
The defense says Green suffered a seizure before the crash and didn’t kill the woman intentionally.
