Three out-of-state women have been formally charged with promoting prostitution in connection with a 2014 sting at the Pine Tree Spa on Elkton Road, records show. Limestone County Investigator Jeff Kilpatrick and Deputy Bill Daws served as undercover patrons to the spa that was busted.
The three women were among 193 people recently indicted by a Limestone County grand jury on crimes ranging from theft to drugs to assault.
The women indicted in the prostitution sting are:
• Jung E. Blanton, 58, of 4788 Moss Creek Drive, Lexington, Kentucky;
• Gyeong Yim Gweon, 65, of 2620 Bickley’s Lake Road, Duluth, Georgia;
• Kyong Suk Kim, 52, of 2620 N. Bickley’s Lake Road, Duluth, Georgia.
Prostitution sting
In a written complaint filed May 30, 2014, Limestone County Sheriff’s Investigator Johnny Morell said that on May 28, Kilpatrick was sent inside the spa, where he was offered sexual acts for money. The next day, Kilpatrick was sent back into the spa along with Limestone Deputy Bill Daws, according to the complaint. Both undercover officers were offered sexual acts in exchange for money, Morell said. Once the offer was made, investigators, who had a search warrant, entered the spa through the front door, Morell said.
“While in the spa, we recovered a total of $12,256 in cash spread throughout the spa,” Morell said. Investigators also recovered a green jacket with its cuffs sewn shut and its sleeves filled with multiple condoms, and condoms rolled up in socks in different rooms, Morell said.
All three women were indicted on a charge of second-degree promoting prostitution, a felony.
