DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) — An Alabama man is on trial in the roadway death of a woman who was rammed to death in Georgia.
Twenty-three-year-old Dewey Green of Pelham, Alabama, is charged with murder in the death last year of 53-year-old Janice Pitts.
Police say Pitts was stopped at a traffic light in Douglasville when a vehicle driven by Green struck her from behind. Pitts’ daughter Lesha Davis and Davis’ young son were with her.
WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/1Ec5rOj ) reports that Davis testified Green kept hitting their vehicle. And she says Green pinned Pitts between the two vehicles when got out to check for damage.
Davis says her mother collapsed when Green backed up, and he then ran over her body.
Police say Green seemed dazed after being stopped and smelled like alcohol.
