County arrests
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported the following arrests Thursday, Friday and Saturday:
• Corey Christopher Barnes, 22, of 1267 County Road 369, Trinity, second-degree theft
• Myles Perry Byers, 36, of 100 E. Sanderfer Road, Apt. 109, Athens, grand jury indictment for second-degree theft
• Joel Dwight Gooch Jr., 29, of 16789 Poplar Creek Road, Athens, grand jury indictment for domestic violence (strangulation/suffocation), two counts of third-degree burglary, second-degree theft and obstruction of justice
• Virginia Barnett Greenhaw, 59, of 14541 Elk River Mills Road, Athens, driving under the influence
• Crystal Kay Gunter, 39, of 2445 Peach Road, Minor Hill, Tennessee, grand jury indictment for second-degree theft
• Brandon Wayne Howard, 29, of 21917 Stinnett Hollow Road, Athens, grand jury indictment for third-degree burglary, first-degree theft, possession of burglary tools and third-degree receiving stolen property
• Patrick Jeffery Johnson, 48, of 2414 U.S. 31 South, Room 116, Athens, grand jury indictment for violation of Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (no bond)
• Roger Gene Lowery, 69, of 27413 Ed Ray Road, Athens, sexual abuse of a child under age 12. These charges were dismissed without prejudice Oct. 30, 2017, by Circuit Judge Chadwick Wise.
• Xavier Marquise Mason, 22, of 13069 Nicole Way, Athens, grand jury indictment for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia (no bond)
• Abdulghzni Saleh Altibali, 46, of 25301 Elkton Road, Elkmont, contributing to the delinquency of a minor
• Paul Stephen Montgomery, 42, of 633 Jackson St., Decatur, violated probation on previous conviction for possession of prescription drugs
• Marshall Clayton Morris, 27, of 25624 New Bethel Road, Elkmont, grand jury indictment for child abuse
• Daylen Wade Murphy, 19, of 604 S. Houston St., Athens, grand jury indictment for first-degree theft
• John Thomas Posey, 37, of 606 N. Beaty St., Athens, grand jury indictment for second-degree theft
• Ronnie Lee Pylant Jr., 27, of 22317 Elkton Road, Athens, grand jury indictment for domestic violence (strangulation/suffocation)
• Lauren Amber Ray, 24, of 29786 Easter Ferry Road, Lester, violated probation on previous conviction for failing to pay child support
• Christopher Lee Smith, 37, of 17622 Cross Key Road, Athens, grand jury indictment for two counts of possession of a controlled substance (no bond), two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia (no bond), second-degree possession of marijuana, first-degree manufacturing a controlled substance (no bond), possession/sell of a precursor (no bond), and three counts of chemical endangerment of a child (no bond)
• Levi Keith Tyler, 22, of 516 Camelot Drive, Athens, grand jury indictment for first-degree theft and second-degree theft
• David Jared Daniels, 27, of 12530 Kentucky Ave., Elberta, Alabama, probation revoked on previous convictions for breaking and entering a vehicle and third-degree burglary
• Britany Dawne Gray, 24, of 1003 Frazier St., Athens, distribution of a controlled substance and drug offender (ephedrine)
• Anthony Thomas Hastings, 36, of 20423 Harris Road, Athens, possession of a controlled substance and four counts of failing to appear in court
County thefts
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported the following thefts Friday:
• ATHENS – $100 cash stolen March 4 in 20000 block Alabama 127
• ATHENS – Five-foot utility trailer valued at $650 stolen between Feb. 14 and March 4 from 24200 block Stinnett Hollow Road
City arrests
The Athens Police Department reported no new arrests Thursday and the following arrest Friday:
• Ashley Lanette Trower, 42, of 202 Maple St., Athens, domestic violence (criminal mischief)
City thefts
The Athens Police Department reported the following thefts and incidents Thursday and Friday:
• Criminal mischief to two double-pane windows and two window screens, total $230, March 4 in 100 block Ash Street
• Gasoline valued at $12 taken in gasoline drive off, and $500 phone card stolen March 4 in 1000 block East Hobbs Street
• Criminal mischief to window glass, value $40, March 5 in 200 block Maple Street
• Damage to two bushes and a fence, total $430, March 6 in 300 block North Madison Street
