MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — The carnival season is picking on Alabama’s coast with more Mardi Gras parades this weekend.

Two parades are scheduled in Mobile on Saturday, and another one will be held across Mobile Bay in Fairhope on Saturday night.

Another parade is set for Sunday night in downtown Mobile. A dozen balls are also scheduled for the weekend.

Weather is supposed to be nice, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s and 50s.

While New Orleans is best known for its Mardi Gras celebrations, the pre-Lenten festival was first held in Mobile.
