Man accused of child abuse among 142 charged by grand jury

An Athens man has been indicted for allegedly beating a 3-year-old boy so severely with a braided belt he suffered several bruises and red marks on his back and legs, court records show.
A Limestone County grand jury has indicted Keane Lamar Robinson, 21, of 24676 McClung Lane, on a charge of willful abuse of a child under age 18, court records show. He was initially arrested on the charge April 6, 2014, after a Department of Human Resources employee reported it to Athens Police.
Robinson was an acquaintance of the boy at the time the alleged abuse occurred on April 1 at 1418 E. Elm St., Apt. 1C, Athens.

Robinson is one of 142 people recently indicted by a grand jury. In another major case, Rickey Wade Adams, 49, of 23705 Reunion Road, Athens, was indicted on a charge of reckless murder in connection with a May 31, 2014, wreck east of Elkmont on New Garden Road, which killed Harvey Glenn Moore, 73, of Athens. Adams was charged at the time of the wreck with driving under the influence and driving on the wrong side of the road.
