A look at the details of the Polaris project w/site location map

Here are some details about the Polaris project, as released by the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce:

• Polaris will build an advanced manufacturing plant on their new Huntsville campus in Limestone County, adding to the area’s advanced manufacturing base

• Polaris plans to bring up to 2,000 jobs to Huntsville over the next seven (7) years

• Company will make a capital Investment of approximately $142 million

• $15 million in local incentives to cover the cost of land and temporary office space—funded through regional partners

• Details including level of funding will be provided in late January—after all elected bodies vet the funding with their respective boards

• Polaris anticipates construction to begin by the start of the second quarter of 2015

• New Polaris manufacturing campus is expected to be completed and fully operational by 2017

• Average Polaris wage is $18/hour. This is averaged across all employees at the new campus

• The Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) will handle all job applications. The Chamber will post a link on its website when appropriate
