An Athens man arrested in August for allegedly downloading child pornography onto his computer has now been formally charged by a Limestone County grand jury, records show.

Justin Blake Romine, 33, of 14726 Evans Road, was recently indicted on a charge of possessing illegal pornographic materials, a felony, records show.

The website from which Romine allegedly obtained the pornographic images was being monitored by Madison County investigators, an official said at the time of Romine’s initial arrest on Aug. 29.

Madison officials notified the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, and Limestone Investigator Leslie Ramsey obtained a search warrant for Romine’s residence and personal computer, Sheriff Mike Blakely said. During her search, Ramsey found pornographic images of children, Blakely said.

Others indicted

The grand jury also indicted 59 others on various charges, including assault, drugs, theft and burglary. Not all of those formally charged are listed below because they were not yet arrested when the list was released by the Limestone County District Court. The rest include:
