Mr. and Mrs. John Evans of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Hannah Elisabeth Evans to Matthew Wendell Ray, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Wendell Ray of Brewton.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Fowler of Tanner and the late Buddy Evans and  Bobbie Evans.

She is a 2013 graduate of the University of Mobile where she received a nursing degree. She is employed at UAB Hospital as a nurse on the GI/Liver/Liver transplant floor.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Jack and Peggy Bracken and Reginald and Rosellen Ray.

He currently attends the University of Alabama where he plans to graduate in December with a degree in public relations. He is employed with Coast to Coast Events Inc., in Birmingham.  

The wedding is planned for Oct. 26 in Mooresville.
