Benjie and Nancy McBay of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Chelsey Nicole McBay to Aaron Blake Romine, son of Steve and Linda Romine of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Martha Jo Leonard, Joan McBay Brooks, Ben Tyler McBay and the late Harry Fred Leonard Sr. Her great-grandmother is Kathryn Sweetland Parvin.

She is a 2006 graduate of Athens High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of North Alabama where she received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and sociology with a concentration in criminology. She is employed by the Limestone County District Attorney’s Office.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mary Morgan Jolly and the late Noah Lee Jolly and Dee F. and Lola Simmons Romine.

He is a 2006 graduate of Clements High School and a 2008 graduate of the Alabama Fire College. He is employed by Bonnie Plants and Craft’s Lawnscapes.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 27 at The Cedars 1859.
