A Huntsville man who was on the receiving end of the blade in a sword fight over money Saturday in Athens has been charged with assault along with his combatant, an official said.
Jason Dennis Sisco, 26, was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree assault, Athens Police Capt. Floyd Johnson said.
The arrest was the result of an investigation into a fight between Sisco and Dennis Green on Saturday on East Strain Road, he said. Green was charged with first-degree assault at the time.
The investigation revealed that during an argument over money, Sisco hit Green at least twice with a sheathed sword, which left bruises on Green, Johnson said. Green retrieved the sword from Sisco and struck him in the side of the head, cutting him on his right cheek and ear, Johnson said.
Sisco was booked at the Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
