Rainstorm leaves wreckage … more on its way

- Monday night storms snatched the steeple from the roof of the First Baptist Church at Madison Street and Eighth Avenue in Athens.
Nasty weather is expected to plague the area for the remainder of the work week, its calling cards already scattered across the city and county.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible again today in Limestone County, with the chance of rain at 60 percent. With that comes the threat of possible flash flooding due to rain-saturated earth.
