Beta golf tournament

The Elkmont Beta Club will host a golf tournament May 24 to raise money for its trip to the National Convention. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. at Southern Gayles Golf Course. Cost is $220 per team or $55 per player. Contact: 256-431-1443.

Baseball camp

The East Limestone High School baseball team will host a youth baseball camp, June 2-6. Kindergarten through second grade will be from 9-11 a.m.; third through fifth grade is noon-2 p.m. and sixth through eighth grade is 3-5 p.m. each day. The camp will be held at the East Limestone High School baseball field. Campers may register the day of the event for $95. Contact: Bradley.craig@lcsk12.org.

Softball camp

The 2014 Triple Play Softball Camp is June 2-5, and begins at 9 a.m. daily at the Athens Sportsplex. The camp staff includes East Limestone softball coach Brett Nave, Elkmont softball coach Mary Jane Hobbs and Ardmore softball coach Mark Thomas. The camp is $60 and open to ages 6-12. An additional one-hour pitching and hitting session is available at 1 p.m. each day for $15. Contact: mark.thomas@lcsk12.org.

Optimist golf tournament

The Optimist Club of Athens is hosting a golf tournament June 5 at The Canebrake Club in Athens. The tournament is open to junior golfers, ages 10 -18 and is part of the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship. Deadline for entry is June 4. Entry forms can be obtained at Canebrake or by calling Debbie Merritt at 256-232-6993. Cost is $25.

Baseball camp

The University of North Alabama will host a youth baseball camp from 9 a.m.- 2:30 p.m., June 2-4, at Mike Lane Field. The camp is open for children in grades 1-6. Cost is $170 or $200 with lunch. Register online at www.unabaseball.com. Contact: mjkeehn@una.edu.

Bobby Sprowl Camp

The Bobby Sprowl summer baseball camp will be from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., June 16-19, at Athens Bible School. The camp is open for ages 6 – 17. Cost is $100. Contact: 205-333-6280.
