Athens Elementary School fourth-grader Jacolby Edmondson makes a big splash at the water-slide inflatable Thursday during field day.

The Lions Club train was a popular place Thursday to enjoy a snow cone and ride at the Athens Elementary School field day. All grades took part in fun and competition that also included inflatables, relay races and tug of war. City schools are out for the summer after a half-day May 28. County schools are in session through a half-day May 29.
