The Elkmont Beta Club is going to the national club’s convention for the first time next month, but they will need some help to get there. The Elkmont team recently finished second at the state convention to qualify for nationals.
Elkmont’s 26 Beta Club members will head to Richmond, Virginia, next month to compete in the National Senior Beta Club Convention. The team is hosting a golf tournament Saturday, May 24, to raise money for their trip.
The tournament will be held at Southern Gayles and begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Also on Saturday, a silent auction and car wash will be held simultaneously at Southern Gayles.
Cost for the tournament is $220 per team or $55 per player. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin, longest drive and straightest drive. For more information, contact John Schmidt at 256-431-1443.
