It’s normally the football team that is setting records and making history at Tanner.
On Wednesday, it was the boys soccer team that made history in their 3-1 victory over West Morgan in the state soccer playoffs.
The Rattlers advanced to the third round of the state soccer playoffs for the first time in school history.
The win sets up the biggest game in the program’s history when Tanner host defending champion and No. 3 ranked Randolph Saturday at Rip Swanner Field.
Jose Gonzalez scored a pair of goals and Valerio Vincente added another for Tanner in the win at West Morgan Wednesday.
Saturday’s quarterfinal between Tanner (10-4) and Randolph (12-6-2) will kick off at 6 p.m. The winner will advance to the state tournament at John Hunt Field, May 9-10.
