Mark and Nita Stephens of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Elisabeth Stephens to Stephen Gunner Rivers, son of Steve and Joan Rivers of Decatur. 

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Byron and Elisabeth Davis and Wilma Stephens.

She is a 2011 graduate of Athens High School.

She is employed by Bella Bella Boutique as a sales associate. 

The prospective groom is the grandson of Bob and Joanne Gunner of Decatur, and the late Kenneth and Lois Rivers.

He is a 2011 graduate of Athens High School and is currently attending LSU where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management.

The wedding is planned for May 24, at Sacred Heart Church in Cullman.
