Mr. and Mrs. Jess Black of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Glenn Black to James Hampton Tanksley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Tanksley of Hartselle. 

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Black and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sanders, all of Athens.

She is a 2005 graduate of Clements High School and a 2011 graduate of Samford University where she received a doctorate degree in pharmacy.  She is employed by Walmart Pharmacy as a pharmacist. 

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. James E. Hampton of Hartselle and Mrs. Harlen J. Tanksley of Priceville and the late James E. Hampton and Harlen J. Tanksley. 

He is a 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Alabama where he received a bachelor’s degree in communications. He is employed by Plastic Recyclers SE Inc. as a warehouse manager. 

The wedding is planned for June 7 at The Cedars in Tanner.
