No. 7 Ardmore beats West Limestone 10-3

Ardmore beat softball rivals West Limestone Tuesday afternoon 10-3 with Morgan Hughes on the mound. Hughes struck out five batters and went 2 for 3 at the plate.

Alexus Morrison, Shelby Shelf, Sammy Allen and Kaitlynn Moore each had hits for Ardmore.

The No. 7-ranked Tigers lost to Falkville Monday 7-6 in extra innings. Stratton Hobbs went 2 for 4 with a pair of walks. Miranda Mitchell and Self were each 2 for 5.

Ardmore plays at East Limestone today at 2 p.m.

Lauderdale County 6

Alysia Anderson went 4 for 4 and scored three runs to lead Clements past Lauderdale County Tuesday. Daraisha McCollough hit an RBI double and finished with two hits while Karlie Turner was 3 for 4 and scored three runs.

Cayle Dendy was 2 for 4, including a two-RBI double. Danielle Sholl was the winning pitcher with five strikeouts.

Soccer

Athens Bible swept Ardmore Tuesday with the boys winning 4-0 and the girls holding on for a 2-1 victory.

Emma Ulrich and Kara Ward scored the goals for ABS while Ashley Riggins recorded 10 saves in goal.

Baseball

Athens Bible finished its area series Tuesday with Covenant Christian with a 17-0 shutout. Overton Wright led ABS with three hits, a pair of RBIs and a run scored. Kenneth Adams added two hits, three RBIs and four runs scored while Jeb Hagewood had a pair of hits and scored three runs.

Golf

Lee Hodges led Ardmore to a 165-215 win over Clements Tuesday at Southern Gayles Golf Course. The senior shot a nine-hole 36 while teammates Andrew Eakes totaled 38.

Ty Beck shot a 45 and Cole Camp a 47 to help Ardmore’s cause.

Matt Davis was Clements low scorer with a 44. Clements’ Harrison Russell finished with a 47.

Ardmore’s Miranda Rodgers was the top girls golfer with a 47 while Rebekah Evans had a 55. Bri Brazell finished with a 55 for Clements.
