20 positions available for planned Remington plant in Huntsville

Remington Outdoor Company is seeking 20 workers for its planned $110 million firearms plant in Huntsville.

Available positions include human resources generalist, manufacturing engineer, data analyst and information technology technician. They are posted on the company’s website at https://careers-remington.icims.com.

The North Carolina-based gun manufacturer is partnering with Alabama Industrial Development Training to screen workers and provide job training. The AIDT website is http://www.aidt.edu.

Several municipalities within Limestone, Madison and Morgan counties have approved their portion of a statewide $60 million incentives package for the plant.

Limestone County will allocate $500,000 in cash incentives, while the city of Athens and Limestone County Economic Development Partners Inc. have agreed to provide $250,000 apiece for a total local contribution of $1 million.

Remington, which also has sites in Arkansas, Kentucky and New York, is expected to bring 2,000 jobs to the North Alabama region by 2024, according to project officials.

The company has agreed to begin operations in the old Chrysler building near the Huntsville International Airport by late 2015.
