Limestone arrests 5 in drug raid

The discovery of cocaine, marijuana and illegal prescription pills at a Limestone County home has led to the arrest of five men, an official said.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Stinnett said narcotics officers discovered the drugs about 2 p.m. Thursday during a raid at a home on Ash Street and arrested the following men on charges of possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia:

• Jonathan James Rice, 21, of 205 S. Lindsay Lane, Athens;

• Demarco Lashawn Sledge, 21, of 718 Old Railroad Bed Road, Madison;

• Paul O’Neal Vance, 23, of 5204 Warren Drive, Athens;

• Jordan Rashaad Williams, 22, of 910 W. Sanderfer Road, Athens; and

• David Albert Wilson Jr., 37, of 18277 Menefee Road, Athens.

Each of the men was released from the Limestone County Jail after posting bail of $7,000 each, records show.
