UPDATE: Sheriff arrests 19 on drug charges, 7 arrest pending

A 10-month undercover probe of suspected drug activity in Limestone County led to the arrests today of 19 people, with seven arrests pending, Sheriff Mike Blakely said Friday afternoon.

At 5:30 a.m., Blakely and his deputies began serving arrest warrants on 26 people for alleged distribution of prescription drugs, marijuana, crack cocaine and methamphetamine in the county, the sheriff said.

The sheriff’s narcotics unit led the investigation and have obtained 15 warrants for the sale of prescription drugs, nine for the sale of marijuana, six for the sale of crack and one for the sale of meth, Blakely said.

“Most individuals are street-level dealers and have been a problem in facilitating the sale of illegal drugs to our citizens and children,” the sheriff said.

The 19 people arrested, so far, include: Tony Anthony Coleman, Leonard Crowe III, Clifford Wayne Gill, Betty Jo Holt, Laura Jean Jarrett, Ray McElyea, Courtney Terrell Johnson, William Allen Branson, Jason Lee Scott, Briana Lasha Nance, Robert Martin Posey, Samuel Roy Watkins, Harold Glenn Wiley, Christopher Shalon Redus, David Joseph Simmons, Michael Ray Williams, Brandon Dewayne Mosley, Charles Dewayne Yarbrough and one unnamed juvenile.

The following people are wanted but have not yet been located: Jonathan Lamar Woods, Martha Leann Holt, Brian Russell Lanier, Corey Denezel Watkins, James Stanley Pylant, Cortez Horton and Andrew Wiley Finley.
