Hannah Rebecca Lawrence and Christopher Cody Smith

The Rev. and Mrs. Patrick Lawrence of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter Hannah Rebecca Lawrence to Christopher Cody Smith, son of Mike Smith and Patti Smith, both of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of John and Betty Norman of Athens and Bernard Lawrence of Madison and the late Melvin and Janice Hughes Goode.

She is a 2005 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and is currently attending the University of Alabama where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is employed by Sigmatech Inc. in support of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Leon and Hazel Brooks and the late Paul and Betty Jo Cole.

He is a 2001 graduate of Tanner High School and a 2010 graduate of Athens State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in political science. He is employed by Turner Medical Inc. as a quality engineer.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 7, at Berea  Baptist Church.
