2 arrested in Decatur after meth lab found in car

DECATUR, Ala. (AP) — Police in Decatur arrested two men at a car wash after officers say they found a meth lab their vehicle.

Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/Zcd48o ) that 42-year-old Kenneth Dean Guthrie and 26-year-old Jay Kolb were arrested Wednesday.

A police report says an officer approaching their vehicle saw Guthrie hiding something under the passenger seat. Officers found several items in the vehicle that were consistent with a meth lab. Investigators later found an active one-pot meth lab under the passenger seat.

Guthrie and Kolb face charges of unlawfully manufacturing a controlled substance. Guthrie was also charged with tampering with evidence.

It was not immediately clear whether the men had lawyers.
