The funeral for Johnny Lane, 59, of Athens, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Lane died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital.

He was a lifelong plumber, construction worker, welder and equipment operator. He loved repairing things and building mechanical and hydraulics. He was a member of Shepherd’s Chapel in Garvette, Ark., and Concord Baptist Church in Toney.

Survivors include his loving wife, Judy Lane, of whom he said, “Judy is the love that I never dreamed of finding”; two children and two step-children, Brandon Fielding and wife Lisa, and Carrie Cox and husband Chris Cox; cherished grandchildren, Ethan Morrell, Haley Emery, Molly Cox, Riley Cox, Lydia Fielding, Lilly Fielding, Christopher Cowan and Kim Cowan; four brothers, Lloyd Lane, Billy Barnes, Bobby Barnes, Jack Barnes; four sisters, Ann Brown, Edna Gee, Becky Spiegel and Barbara Goode; and 16 nieces and nephews.
