I have been asked why I am seeking the position of Limestone County license commissioner. My number one goal is to improve customer service and efficiency so your wait will be as short as possible. Most people have come to believe that elected officials rarely keep their campaign promises. My goal is not only to fulfill my campaign promises but to exceed my campaign promises.

Goals:

Make available to all citizens of Limestone County, satellite offices to provide convenient locations to conduct business outside traditional boundaries of the courthouse or courthouse annex. The first satellite will be placed in the East Limestone area because of the rapid growth.

Extend weekday hours at the end of the month, because of the increased volume of work.

Adding Saturday hours to accommodate citizens who are unable to visit the office during weekday hours.

As your license commissioner you will be treated with courtesy and respect. I want your trip to our office to be as pleasant as possible and as short as possible because I know that your time is valuable. As time goes on we will make the Limestone County License Commissioners Office more accessible and responsive to the needs of its residents.

I have been a registered land surveyor in Alabama since 1986 and a registered land surveyor in Tennessee since 1987. I believe that my abilities in math and being able to provide solutions to complex engineering and surveying problems makes me qualified for this position. Famous land surveyors that have made great leaders are George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson. If these land surveyors can become president of the United States, this surveyor should be qualified to fill the position of Limestone County license commissioner.

I am the current chairman of the Limestone County Republican Party and have been an active member for the past 15 years. I have been a member of the Alabama Republican Executive Committee for the past 10 years. It has been a privilege to watch our party grow from a minority party to the majority party in Limestone County as it is today. Our number one priority has been to help elect men and women to public office that our founding fathers would have been proud of.

My desire is to be the best public servant that I can be. I saw a quote the other day that caught my attention: “A good American is someone who thinks more highly of others than he does himself, who shows kindness to all people, who is humbled by the freedom he enjoys, and who stoops to pick up a piece of litter instead of passing it by” – Diane M. I believe that we should all strive to leave America a better place than we found it. Past generations left us a great nation, what will we leave our children and grandchildren?
