Lauren Taylor Batts, William Harrison McCracken and Tahoe

Jerry and Marilyn Batts of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter Lauren Taylor Batts of Denver, to William Harrison McCracken of Denver, son of Belinda McCracken of Athens and William Edward McCracken II of Birmingham.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Norman Batts of Athens and the late Mr. and Mrs. Boyd William Taylor.

She is a 2001 graduate of Athens High School and a 2005 graduate of Auburn University where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration with majors in marketing and finance. She also received her master’s degree in public administration from Auburn University.

She is employed by the University of Denver as assistant director of development.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Martha McCracken and Marie Mattox, both of Athens, and the late William Edward McCracken and Coy Wesley Mattox.

He is a 2000 graduate of Athens High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of North Alabama where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration degree and majored in entertainment business.

He is employed by Wheless Partners as director of operations.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 13 at St. Francis at the Point Episcopal Church in Point Clear.
