Austin Lee Nichols, son of Vanita Nichols of Cullman and the late Chris Nichols, celebrated his eighth birthday Aug. 4 with a Sonic party at Southern Adventure in Huntsville. His birthday is Aug. 5. He is the grandson of Larry and Betty Nichols of Elkmont and Daine Freeman of Cullman. His great-grandparents are the late Gerome and Marie Chambers, Birdell Walls, Paul Greer and Mary Ruth Greer. Austin has one brother, Avery, 3, of Cullman.
