• Friends and Family Day. New Zion P.P. Church in Harvest will hold Friends and Family Day today, July 8. Sunday School will begin at 9:45 a.m. Morning worship 11 a.m. Pastor Mark Bone will be in charge on the morning service. The 2 p.m. service will be led by Pastor Terry Ragland and the New Hope CPCA Church.
• Pastor Appreciation. Frazier Christian Methodist Episcopal Church at 1108 S. Hine St. will hold an appreciation celebration for Pastor James E. Coffey and wife, Melissa Coffey, at 10 a.m. today, July 8. The speaker will be Minister Clifford Mastin, an associate pastor at Frazier Church. Contact: 256-233-2104.
• VBS. James Chapel M.B. Church at 814 Lucas Street will hold vacation Bible school from 6-8 p.m. July 8-13. All are welcome. The week will wrap up with a Sunday night program with refreshments.
• Gospel meeting. Elkmont Church of Christ, located at the intersection of Sandlin and Upper Ft. Hampton roads, will hold a gospel meeting July 8-11 with speaker Calvin Jones including 10 a.m. Sunday worship, 11 a.m. Bible class, 2:30 p.m. afternoon worship and 7 p.m. worship Monday-Wednesday.
• Revival. Peace M.B. Church will hold its annual revival at 7 nightly July 9-13, featuring the Rev. Clifford May of Toledo, Ohio. Call 256-874-0565.
• VBS. West Highland Baptist Church will hold vacation Bible school with the theme “Amazing Wonders Aviation” from 9 a.m.-noon July 9–13. Open to ages 4 through sixth grade. Call 256-232-3397.
• Open-air evangelistic services. Christ Church at 1350 Evangel Drive in Huntsville will host outdoor services with Pastor Frances Willie-Chunn at 6:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays, July 9- 27. • Anniversary. Lamb of God Lutheran Church at 11716 County Line Road will hold a celebration of its 10th anniversary Sunday, July 15. Festivities include a 10:30 a.m. worship service featuring former pastor James Turriff followed by a barbecue dinner at noon. After the dinner, a brief presentation of our church’s history will be offered and the church’s youth ministry will also host a special “Palooza party” for children with a bounce house, games and water slides. • Gospel birthday celebration. Pleasant Grove C.P. and Pastor John Jude will host a Gospel birthday celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 15, with Evangelist Horton Matthews ministering “The Gambler” and musical selections by Latrice Johns, Sherry Bush, Morris Griffin, Sisters in Harmony and Arthur Wade and Eternal Voices.
• Youth Explosion. Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in American at 15439 Hastings Road in Athens will hold a communitywide Youth Explosion Sunday, July 22. Worship begins at 5 p.m. Bishop Joseph W. Walker III and the 150-voice Judah Generation Youth Choir of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Nashville will lead the worship. • Revival. The New Life Church at 2314 South Hine St. will hold its summer revival at 7 nightly July 23-25. Pastor Christopher Wimberly of the Hunter Hill First Baptist Church will be the guest preacher.
