Melissa Jo Rogers and Jacob Paul Gibbs, both of Toney, were married in a 6 p.m. ceremony May 5 at Madelyn’s in the Grove in Athens with Bro. Tony Boyles officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Janice and Lynn Rogers of Toney. She is the granddaughter of Nellie Jo Phillip and Anna Lee Rogers.

The groom is the son of Rhonda and Paul Gibbs of Toney. He is the grandson of Jodie and Betty Gibbs and Lois and Malcolm Miller.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Maid of honor was April Springer, cousin of the bride. Bridal attendants were Courtney Gibbs and Jamie Heard. The flower girl was Lilly Christian.

Paul Gibbs, father of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Travis Gibbs, Christopher Rogers and Randy Toone. The ringbearer was Avery Springer. Junior ushers were Caleb Springer, Kelly Proaps and Brendan Proaps.

Music was provided by Wooley Springs Baptist Church Praise Team and Jeremy Smith.

A reception followed the ceremony at Madelyn’s in the Grove. Servers were Martha Phillips, Heather Proaps, Julia Arnett, Teresa Smith and Celeste Staggs.

The wedding director was Kay Widner and the sound director was Ray Widner.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple returned home to Toney.
