William Amos Hargrove and Mary Margaret Carter

Mr. and Mrs. George Lawton Carter Jr. of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter Mary Margaret Carter to William Amos Hargrove, son of Mrs. Glenn Eston Johnson and Thomas Steven Hargrove, both of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Carter of Birmingham and Margaret Durrett Gentry of Aliceville, and the late James Howard Gentry Sr.

She is a 2005 graduate of Athens High School and a 2010 graduate of Auburn University where she received a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Joyce C. Richardson of Athens and the late William Donald Richardson and Mr. and Mrs. Fount Thomas Hargrove.

He is a 2005 graduate of Athens High School and a 2011 graduate of Auburn University where he received a master’s degree in landscape architecture.

The wedding is planned for Sept. 8 at Creekside Plantation in Mooresville.
