Wedding: Davis-Gourgeot

Katherine Marie Davis of Athens and Matthew Brandon Gourgeot of Decatur were married in a 5 p.m. ceremony April 28 at First United Methodist Church of Florence with the Rev. Joy Morgan and Billy Curtis officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael William Davis of Athens. She is the granddaughter of Marilyn B. Tallman of Florence and the late Daniel C. Tallman and Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Davis.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Denis J. Gourgeot of Memphis, Tenn., and Angela Todd of Decatur. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Todd of Decatur and Mr. and Mrs. Denis Gourgeot Sr. of New Orleans.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor was Krystina Bole and matron of honor was Kendra Kelly. Bridal attendants were Maggie Carter, Kacie Castillo, Megan Edens, Cassy Gage, Shelly Haney, Elizabeth Kea and Jenny Lawson.
The flower girls were Ava Castillo and Jada Jewell.
Denis Gourgeot, father of the groom, and Craig Taylor served as best man. Groomsmen were Trip Bower, Zachary Gourgeot, Daniel Meek, Zane Olive, James Porter, B.J. Strobel and Matthew Vaughn.
The ringbearer was Jordan Jewell, cousin of the groom.
Music was provided by organist Linda May and Tiffany Elkins on trumpet.
The guest register was kept by Ashley Craddick and Terri Wright.
A reception followed the ceremony at Turtle Pointe Country Club in Killen.
After a wedding trip to Mexico, the couple returned home to Decatur.
