The funeral for David Edward Ferguson, 74, of Athens will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Spry Funeral Home with Luther Dugger, Wayne Bowden and Buck Collins officiating.

Burial will be in Sunnyhill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Ferguson died Friday, March 23, 2012, at home. He was born June 17, 1937, in Limestone County. He was a member of the Baptist church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ferguson.

He is survived by his wife, Ella Ferguson of Athens; sons, Robert Ferguson of Athens and John Ferguson of Courtland; a daughter, Shelia Siniard of Athens; eight grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Winsett of Stuart, Va., Martha Gossett of Athens and Sue Swan of Newhill, N.C.; brothers, Marvin Ferguson of Athens, James Ferguson of Harvest, and Johnny Ferguson and Herbert Ferguson, both of Decatur; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Keith Siniard, David Christopher Ferguson, Troy Cannon, Herbert Ferguson, Leslie Bailey and Frank Mirabella,
