William Kelley Murphy and Laura Cameron Mott

Mr. and Mrs. Gaddis Brittian Mott of Selma, announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Cameron Mott, to William Kelley Murphy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Andrew Murphy of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart McWhorter Campion Jr. of Hayneville and Mr. and Mrs. William Earl Mott Sr. of Selma.

She is a 2006 graduate of Morgan Academy in Selma and a 2009 graduate of Auburn University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She also received a Master of Science degree in elementary education in 2010 from Auburn University where she graduated magna cum laude and is a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. She is employed by Lakewood Elementary School in Phenix City as a fourth-grade teacher.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Joe Kelley of Florence and Dorthy Murphy of Cullman and the late L.A. Murphy Jr.

He is a 2006 graduate of Athens High School and a 2010 graduate of Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in entrepreneurship and family business. He is a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He is employed by Auto Owners Insurance as a personal lines underwriter.

The wedding is planned for March 24 at First Baptist Church in Selma.
