William Johnson and Valerie Jones

Vol and Patti Jones of Hanceville announce the engagement of their daughter, Valerie Jones, to William Johnson, son of Tim and Jane Johnson and Kelly Wrenn, all of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of James Jones of Hanceville and the late Jack and Wilma Wood and Lois Jones.

She is a 2006 graduate of Hanceville High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of North Alabama where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education and spanish. She is a 2011 graduate of the University of Alabama where she received a Master of Arts degree in higher education administration. She graduated with honors from both universities. She is employed by the University of Alabama in Huntsville as a tutor coordinator.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Bill and Jackie Wrenn and Glenn and Phyllis Johnson, all of Athens.

He is a 2002 graduate of Athens High School and a 2005 graduate of Delta State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics. He is a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he received a Master of Science degree in systems engineering. He graduated with honors from both universities. He is employed by Northrop Grumman as a systems engineer.

The wedding is planned for March 17 at Hanceville First United Methodist Church.
