BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say a north Alabama man is charged with federal firearms violations.
A federal grand jury on Thursday indicted 55-year-old Craig Rowland Nowka of Hartselle on charges of selling firearms without a license and transferring guns out of state.
A statement from U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance of Birmingham says Nowka allegedly sold a rifle and a pistol to an out-of-state resident in October. He’s accused of dealing in firearms without a license for much of 2010 and this year.
Court records don’t show whether Nowka has a lawyer. Both charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
