Gavin Cole Higginbotham, son of Cary and Crystal Higginbotham of Athens, celebrated his fifth birthday Dec. 3 at a Transformers party. His birthday is Dec. 6. He is the grandson of Patsy Shields of Athens, Kenneth and Bevley Higginbotham of Collinsville and the late L.B. Shields. His great-grandparents are Helen Hutchens of Athens, Joe and Louise Ennis of Cedar Bluff and the late Edd McBay, Otis and Laura Shields and Nora Higginbotham. Gavin has two sisters, Taylor, 9, and Peyton, 7.
