Leslie Dawn Whitworth and Jonathan Lee Ivy, both of Athens, were married in a 5 p.m. ceremony June 25 at First Union Baptist Church with Dennis Ivy officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Wesley and Angie Whitworth of Athens. She is the granddaughter of Helen Smith of Madison and the late Charles Smith and the late Wesley and Valeria Whitworth.

The groom is the son of Dennis Ivy and wife Mary and Gail Sutton and husband Allen, all of Athens. He is the grandson of the late Blanche and Ellis Ivy and the late Lurlean Lankster.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Bridal attendants were Peyton Ivy, daughter of the groom and Kadence Miller, daughter of the bride.

The flower girls were Paislee Ivy, daughter of the groom, and Emily McCurry, niece of the groom.

Groomsman was Blake Pitman and ushers were Josh Whitworth and Jeremy McCurry.

The ringbearer was Jayden Sutton.

The guest register was kept by Wanda Borden.

A reception followed the ceremony at the church. Servers were Pat Couey and Brenda Mason.

Directors were Morgan Borden and Denise Pitman. Make-up and hair were done by Annie Russell.

The couple reside in Athens.
