Chelsea Alyce Blakely and Jody Don Evans

Doug and Debbie Blakely of Toney announce the engagement of their daughter, Chelsea Alyce Blakely, to Jody Don Evans, son of Donald and Melody Evans of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Allen and Betty Dorning of Toney and the late Estes and Lorene Blakely and the late Roberta Dorning.

She is a 2007 graduate of Ardmore High School and a 2010 graduate of Wallace State where she received an associate degree in nursing.

She is employed by Athens-Limestone Hospital as an emergency room nurse.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Robert and Annie Ruth Evans and Nathan and Doris Bates, all of Athens and the late Ernie Holland.

He is a 2005 graduate of Faith Christian Academy and is currently attending Calhoun Community College where he is pursuing a degree in secondary education.

He is employed by Target Distribution Center as a warehouse worker.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 8 at Wooley Springs Baptist Church in Toney.
