Douglas Lee Patterson and Heather Marie Wilder

Clyde and Rosemarie Wilder of Harvest announce the engagement of their daughter, Heather Marie Wilder, to Douglas Lee Patterson of Athens, son of G. Brian and Joy Patterson of Athens.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lauri and Gale Mondene of Windham, Maine, and the late Ulysses Alford Wilder and Norma Jean Wilder.

She is a 2003 graduate of East Limestone High School.

She is currently attending Athens State University where she is pursuing a degree in elementary education.

She is employed by Our House daycare as a teacher and by Onyx All-Star Cheerleading and Gymnastics as a cheer coach.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Velma Barker of Athens and the late Herbert Calvin Barker, George R. Patterson and Rachel Gaston Patterson.

He is a 2000 graduate of Athens High School, a 2004 graduate of Athens State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a 2007 graduate of Cumberland School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate.

He is a lawyer in a private practice in Athens.

The wedding is planned for July 30 at Friendship United Methodist Church.
